Bass-baritone T.J. Callahan (he/him/his) uses historically informed performance practice as a lens to cast new light on vocal music from all eras. A dedicated ensemble specialist, he is delighted to be returning to his home state to debut with VAE. Currently based in Baltimore, Maryland, he sings in the critically acclaimed Emmanuel Choir and has appeared as a soloist with Handel Choir Baltimore and in ensemble with Mind on Fire. Callahan is a current VOCES8 U.S. Scholar, and his upcoming season will include debuts with Bach in Baltimore, the Washington National Cathedral Choir’s concert series and his new vocal chamber quartet, Anchorites.
